About Habiganj District Welfare Society USA Inc.

Here is a background of the various things our organization has been involved in since 1988 its establishment. We have strived to achieve the many goals and aspirations we initially set out to achieve. We believe in trying to help many different people in different situations in Habiganj and USA. We collected money build the second floor of Women College of Habiganj, also provide Diabetic Diagnostic Machine to Diabetic Hospital in Habiganj HDWS also donated over 100’s of Rickshaw around Habiganj, “Konna Daan” a mission to help poor parents on their daughter wedding which over 1000’s over the years, HDWS also stand by our district on the natural disasters time (ex. Flood, Covid-19 and others”). We also offer advice to students coming over to the USA from Bangladesh and assist them in settling into their new environment, and finally we also help with funeral arrangements.

The HDWS organization has been established since 1988 and over the years we have organized some truly wonderful and memorable events such as the “Habiganj Milan Mala” which was held over two days. We as an organization also strive on recognizing the true heroes and heroines that exist within the Bangladeshi community and we aspire to acknowledge the remarkable achievements of such people.

We as an organization look to do much more in the future to help the Bangladeshi community, we want to prosper as an organization and reach out to all different types of people from all walks of life. With the help of our community in the USA this can most definitely be achieved. The Bangladeshi community in the USA is indeed an active community who are just yearning to use their dynamic spirit to help the society in which they reside in. Our organization always places immense importance on philanthropic activities. When the cyclone hit Bangladesh and caused grave destruction, we as an organization pulled together and donated to help our brothers and sisters in Habiganj. Our main achievement has been the arrangement of a big family event that took place on every year on SUMMER Season called “Barshik Bonvujon & Milon Mela” This event was a major success with attendance of more over 1000’s of people almost all from Habiganj currently living abroad specially in USA. It was an incredibly enjoyable event for all the families involved. We also arrange Iftar Party” where Habiganji around USA joins. Some of our events our Honourable MP’s People Republic of Bangladesh Adv. Md Abu Zahir, Md. Abdul Majid Khan and Upozilla Chairman Adv. Alamgir Chowdhury, Mutasirul Islam and Fazlul Hoque Chowdhury Salim, also attended our hugely successful event and had the opportunity to see the wonderful work that was taking place.

We as an organization are looking forward to doing much more in the near future and are always looking for innovative ways and means of helping and engaging with the Bangladeshi community and the rest of the society too.
